Palestine Main Street information located here to understand the 20 year member of the Texas Main Street Program. There are blocks and blocks of the Main Street district for your exploration with blocks and blocks of buildings … some beautifully restored and some awaiting attention. The flavor of the Main Street district is reflected in its diversity of shops, restaurants, bars, bakeries, galleries, antiques shops and boutiques.
Palestine Chamber of Commerce The Chamber offers a variety of services and information for the visitor. A very active organization, this Chamber is a leader in the community .. definitely a new and old business's best friend.
Palestine Public Library is now in its recently restored Carnegie Library building, completely restores with ADA standards to serve the next generation of readers and computer users. Open Mon – Fri with some special events. The Historical genealogy information for decades of Anderson citizens is stored in the Redlands Annex on Queen St next to the Redlands. Texas State Railroad Vintage steam and diesel locomotives take passengers across the celebrated rails of the Piney Woods Route between the quaint East Texas towns of Palestine and Rusk on a 50-mile roundtrip adventure. The 25 miles of rail on which the Texas State Railroad travels is the link between two iconic East Texas towns. Both are well-known for their natural beauty, historic charm, and Victorian-style architecture.
Dogwood Trails Celebration This long-time celebration takes place the last two weekends in March and first weekend in April. Enjoy the delicate beauty of the dogwood trees in Davey Dogwood Park and the surrounding area. Activities are scheduled each weekend to compliment the Celebration, including the Dogwood Trails Festival, the first weekend.

Texas Community Theater The crown jewel Historic Main Street Palestine, the ongoing restoration continues. It is home to a very active community theater group offering live productions throughout the year. The restored neon light on the front of the building is a bright beacon during show time.
The Pint & Barrel Drafthouse is a great stop for casual food fare and a variety of beers and wine in a vintage setting. Other shops, restaurant and bar are in the Old Town Palestine area on 302 E. Crawford.
Oxbow Bakery is a sweet spot in Old Town Palestine, where mile-high meringue and Southern heritage collide for the ultimate dessert. Owned and operated by a mother-son team, Oxbow Bakery has become synonymous with Palestine, driving foodies & pie lovers into town. Oxbow has been featured in Southern Living, Taste of South Magazine, Texas Highways & Texas Monthly. Open Thursday-Saturday from 10am-3pm (or until they sell out).
Queen St Grille American style foods in the Redlands Hotel beautiful historic building. Queen St Grille covers a variety of tastes from casual lunches to fine steaks and seafood. The lovely tile floor and garden windows sets a lovely background for a fine dinner. If one needs a special event, call on them to create a lovely menu. Try the first Saturday Brunch (except at Christmas time when it is every Saturday during the Polar Express time (9 am to 2 pm).
